DCF filtration is used for correcting images of intestinal areas, which are obscured, filled with gas, or where there are partially blacked areas (caused by a difference in the thickness of the body cavity). If conventional image processing is performed without the filter, sufficient correction cannot be ensured for these areas. DCF is employed to allow images to be seen more clearly.
