The 16 slice Aquilion LB features the industry's largest gantry aperture of 90 cm and the industry's largest scan field of 70 cm, covering more anatomy with greater accuracy ever seen before.

The unique 70 cm scan field, up to 40 percent greater than other large bore CT systems, ensures superior image quality across the entire image and eliminating hidden anatomical areas for improved diagnoses, simulation and planning. Only the Aquilion LB delivers a true Field of View of 70 cm without requiring extrapolation algorithms by virtue of Toshiba's renowned Quantum Detector technology.

Oncology
Uncompromized use in Radiotherapy planning is assured by the unique design of the Aquilion LB. In order to address the oncology market effectively and professionally, Toshiba Medical Systems decided to work closely with leading professionals in the Radiotherapy market, such as the company CMS, for CT Simulation, and the companies LAP Laser & A2J, both specialized in LASER positioning devices. As for the use of patient positioning accessories, the Aquilion LB can be delivered with specialized Radiotherapy tabletops, fitting a wide range of positioning aids, e.g. from Medtec or Sinmed (both acquired by CIVCO).

Versatility in all diagnostic applications
The Aquilion LB makes it possible to scan accurately patients of all sizes in various positions and delivers therefore unmatched clinical performance.
Whether it is for trauma patients, or for anaesthetized patients the large aperture, the 90 cm bore combined with the long scanning range of 1.75 m bears practically no limitations.

Volumetric chest exams can easily be completed within a single breath hold. The combination of the 32 mm detector width and 0.5-second scanning allows up to 96 mm to be scanned per second
Whole-body Trauma examinations are acquired in less then 20 seconds by virtue of the long scanning range of 1.75m and the high scanning speed
